As you can see, it’s the visible spectrum formed into a circle. The reds.Which are the longest wavelengths, end next to the violets, which are the shortest wavelengths. The other colors what it is and how occupy the rest of the circle, in the same order as in the spectrum.
But if you look closely. there’s something missing. Within the same tone (or hue), there can be more or less saturation. This is reflected on the color wheel, from the center, where white would be.To the extremes, where pure color would be.
Composition of the color wheel
I’ve already explained how the color wheel comes from the spectrum and is simply its circular representation. But you’ve probably heard about primary colors, secondary colors, and tertiary colors on more than one occasion.
Where does that come from? Who decided what the primary singapore email list colors are, and why? We have to look ourselves in the eye to answer that.
Trichrome: red, green and blue what it is and how
The fundamental basis of any color reproduction is the three-channel design of the human retina.
The human eye has three types of color sensors that roughly correspond to red, green, and blue. Our retina is made up of nerve cells called photoreceptors. There are two types: rods and cones. They get their names from their shape. Rods are elongated, and cones are, well, cone-shaped.Rods function in low-light conditions, such as at night. Cones function in bright light. We have many more rods than cones in our retina (approximately 120 million versus 6 million).
Primary colors
This trichromatic structure of the retina is what determines what we know as additive primary colors. If we divide the visible spectrum into three equal parts, we obtain three light sources tips to transform your business digitally and attract leads that we can call red, green, and blue. From black (without wavelengths), the three sources add wavelengths (additive color) until reaching white, which would be all the wavelengths in equal proportions.
For all the above reasons, we say that the primary colors are red, green and blue.
How to use the color wheel
Now that you know more about light and color, how our retina perceives it, and what the color wheel is, I’m going to explain how you can use it in your designs.
Using the color wheel as a base, you can choose color combinations that work by following some criteria that I will list for youThey are colors that are on both sides of any belgium business directory color on the color wheel. That is, “neighboring” colors.
hat are monochromatic colors?
These are colors formed by variations in saturation of the same color. We would use a straight line from the edge of the circle to its center. They are colors that are formed using an equilateral triangle .That is, colors equidistant from each other and at the same distance from the center of the circle. These are colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel. They should be the same distance from the center of the wheel.
