Dutch Refugee Council: Refugee First community for bottom-up integration
VluchtelingenWerk Nerland also works with a platform where refugees are strongly involv in creating content. The organization calls it a bottom-up integration project. Community manager is Hadi Hassan, who himself once came to the Netherlands as a refugee.
Hadi, why did you start the Refugee First platform? And what are your main goals with this platform?
Hadi: “The website was launch in March 2022 to provide Ukrainian refugees with information. From the beginning of 2023, buy telemarketing data the platform will be accessible to all refugees in the Netherlands and the content will be available in 11 languages. Using influencers

Hadi: “For the website, we do this in two ways: first, we ask about information nes by conducting research in reception camps of Ukrainian asylum seekers and refugees every three weeks. Second, we also publish experience articles, written by the refugees themselves. In terms of community management, the social mia content is creat by a professional team of refugees. The concept also involves the target groups in the creation of content, ranging from videos to podcasts.”
