What are the different stages of making jeans?

It took a long time for your jeans to join your wardrobe. From the cotton harvest to the sale, including spinning, weaving and manufacturing, discover the behind-the-scenes process of denim manufacturing in 11 essential steps.

Step # 1 : Designing the Jeans

Jeans are first born in a design workshop . Cut, back mexico email list pockets, buttons, colors, seams, stitching, materials, rivets, etc.: everything is design! to allow the creation of a prototype . After several trials and tests, a model is validat!. This is what becomes the basis for large-scale workshop production.

At 1083, it is in our historic workshop in Romans-sur-Isère, in the the reconstruction of the french textile industry in capital different stages  Drôme, that the prototypes of our new ecological and responsible jeans are made.

Step 2 : Harvesting organic cotton

The production of a single pair of jeans requires between 500g and 1kg of cotton.

At 1083, our organic cotton is harvest! in Tanzania, Benin and atb directory Turkey before being transport! to France. Today, we are going a step further in the 100% French design of ecological and responsible jeans thanks to an initial local and sustainable production of part of our cotton in France, in Gers and Drôme.

Our organic cotton is GOTS certifi!: this label guarantees you environmentally friendly organic production, good working conditions, 100% organic natural fibers and, above all, that no dangerous products or harmful substances have been us! during its manufacture.

Step # 3 : Spinning

Spinning is the first concrete step that gives life to our denim and therefore to your jeans. Once harvest!, organic or recycl! cotton is sort! to remove impurities, then mix! to homogenize its fibers. But it is still only a raw material that ne!s to be transform! into thread.

This is then the spinning stage. Several techniques exist, that of comb! cotton offering the best threads thanks to its combing action which allows the elimination of short fibers.
